Health And Fitness Concept Burn Boot Camp Relocating From Charleston-Area Site To Sweetgrass Corner
BALTIMORE, MD (February 18, 2026) – Burn Boot Camp franchise owner Kari Bailey has selected Sweetgrass Corner in Mount Pleasant as the new site for the health and fitness center concept, and intends to relocate the existing location from Oyster Bay by this March. Bailey signed a lease with Continental Realty Corporation (CRC) for 3,434 square feet of space at the nearly 90,000 square foot shopping center positioned at 1909 N Highway 17. Monica Johnson, Senior Leasing Associate, Retail Leasing for CRC represented the landlord and Matt DeAntonio of Carroll Realty represented the tenant in this lease transaction.
“Burn Boot Camp has become immensely popular throughout the country, and we believe its proven model and focus on creating successful health and fitness outcomes will immediately be embraced by the community,” stated CRC’s Kristina O’Keefe, Senior Vice President, Retail Operations. “The concept complements and enhances our existing tenant mix and addresses a growing need in the greater Charleston area. Burn Boot Camp’s unique positioning reflects the type of tenant which brings strong value to the local community.”
Burn Boot Camp offers 45-minute classes focused on strength, conditioning, and High-Intensity Interval (HITT) training in a group setting, with all programs also offering individualized coaching to optimize the effectives of the workout. The concept is differentiated by other concepts by its reliance on metrics to measure and track workout effectiveness, its emphasis on nutrition guidance, and the availability of its complimentary “Childwatch” amenity which supervises children while their parents partake in exercise regimes. More than 375 gyms currently operate throughout 43 states.
Following the birth of her third child, Bailey was looking to reconnect with her passion for fitness while continuing to grow as a business owner. What began as simply trying Burn Boot Camp as a customer, quickly turned into something far more meaningful. When she was later introduced to Burn Boot Camp’s franchise resale team, she inquired about the Mount Pleasant territory – and discovered the Oyster Park location was available. After operating the business for a year, she recognized that a more centralized, high-traffic location would better support long-term growth. Sweetgrass Corner ultimately emerged as the ideal fit.
“Sweetgrass Corner is centrally located in one of the most densely populated areas of Mount Pleasant,” Bailey said. “It is a highly trafficked center anchored by Trader Joe’s, which naturally attracts consumers who value health, wellness, and community. After a year of ownership, I truly believe this move positions our gym – and our members – for long-term success.”
Situated between N Highway 17 and Hungry Neck Boulevard at the intersection of Isle of Palms Connector, Sweetgrass Corner is anchored by Trader Joe’s and features 16 retailers and restaurants offering a mix of personal care services as well as sit-down and fast-casual dining options. Last fall, Golf Galaxy announced its intentions to open its interactive golf store concept at the center, representing the company’s fourth location in South Carolina. Homesense, a TJX brand offering a large selection of curated furniture, lighting, and rugs will also be joining Sweetgrass Corner with a grand opening slated for late February.
