Sweetgrass Corner

BALTIMORE, MD (March 2, 2026) – Floyd’s 99 Barbershop franchise owners Angela and Tom Allenspach have selected Sweetgrass Corner in Mount Pleasant for the inaugural site in the Lowcountry region for the haircut and hair styling concept which operates in 15 states and expect to open later this month. The husband-and-wife team signed a lease with Continental Realty Corporation (CRC) for 1,751 square feet of space at the nearly 90,000 square foot shopping center positioned at 1909 N Highway 17. Monica Johnson, Senior Leasing Associate, Retail Leasing for CRC represented the landlord and CBRE’s Reeves Major represented the tenant in this transaction.

Floyd’s 99 Barbershop is bringing a modern, full-service grooming experience to Sweetgrass Corner in a fun, high-energy setting,” said CRC’s Kristina O’Keefe, Senior Vice President of Retail Operations. “It’s a convenient, everyday service the community can use year-round and a strong traffic driver that fits right in with the center’s neighborhood mix.”

Floyd’s 99 Barbershop was started by three Denver-area brothers in 1999. Upon entering customers are greeted by a local radio station playing classic hits and have their choice of a full range of services including haircuts, shaving, coloring, waxing, and deep conditioning treatments, as well as hair styling. The barbershop employs “the best haircut specialists and stylists in the local area, because it offers the best opportunity to further their careers the Allenspach’s explained.”

“Floyd’s 99 Barbershop is built on precision, community involvement and providing high value and memorable experiences, and these core values align perfectly with our family’s beliefs,” explained Angela Allenspach. “From the moment you walk in, we want to provide a creative and fun environment and make you feel good about yourself. We have lived and raised a family in the Mount Pleasant area for 15 years and now, we want to give something back. Sweetgrass Corner is a place where everyone knows your name, and you feel immediately comfortable and welcome. Barbershops have the reputation for being the local gathering spot to catch up on things, and this inclusive environment is the perfect venue for our franchise.”

Situated between N Highway 17 and Hungry Neck Boulevard at the intersection of Isle of Palms Connector, Sweetgrass Corner is anchored by Trader Joe’s and features 15 retailers and restaurants offering a mix of personal care services as well as sit-down and fast-casual dining options. Last fall, Golf Galaxy announced its intentions to open its interactive golf store concept at the center, representing the company’s fourth location in South Carolina,

Nearly 45,000 vehicles pass Sweetgrass Corner daily via US Highway 17 North, and the center is located on a strategic corridor connecting Mount Pleasant to Charleston, with direct links to Interstate 526 serving the nearby towns of Daniel Island, North Charleston, and West Ashley. Nearly 60,000 consumers, with an average household income exceeding $125,000, reside within a three-mile radius of Sweetgrass Corner.
