BALTIMORE, MD (August 12, 2026) – 5 Star Nutrition franchise owners Kim and Terry Powers have signed a lease with Continental Realty Corporation (CRC) at South Plains Crossing, and recently initiated operation at the nearly 145,000 square foot retail center located at 6802 Slide Road in Lubbock, Texas. Roseanne Holmes, Senior Leasing Associate for CRC, together with WestMark Commercial, represented the landlord and Bialow Real Estate represented the tenant in this lease transaction.
“Consumers have become increasingly health-conscious and fitness-oriented, and 5 Star Nutrition brings a proven formula which provides guidance, tracks progress, and helps people achieve their individual goals,” said CRC’s Kristina O’Keefe, Senior Vice President of Retail Operations. “The franchise owners are extremely passionate about the concept, and the addition of 5 Star Nutrition to the tenant mix furthers our mission of attracting strong retail brands which are unique to the Lubbock area and bringing an in-demand national retailer to the local community.”
5 Star Nutrition markets a line of supplements and vitamins designed for a range of health and fitness goals, including muscle building, weight training, recovery, weight loss, and overall wellness. According to Terry Powers, the journey begins when a consumer receives a free medical-grade body scan which analyzes muscle and body fat and provides a roadmap to a successful outcome. The retailer also offers customized and complimentary guidance from a Results Specialist and personalized meal plans.
Terry Powers said he has always been interested in the health and nutrition category, and pursued this franchise opportunity because he was looking for a career change and was “captivated by the 5 Star Nutrition playbook and its demonstrated success in helping people with different objectives.” He chose South Plains Crossing “due to the center’s strategic positioning near Loop 289, the presence of two strong anchor tenants, and the presence of Texas Tech University and major employers in the healthcare, government and hospitality sectors.”
CRC acquired the shopping center, located on approximately 12 acres, in 2021. South Plains Crossing is positioned near the signalized intersection of 69th Street and Slide Road, and is anchored by Hobby Lobby; and Spec’s, a wine, beer, spirits and gourmet food store. The remaining tenant mix consists of complementary retailers engaged in the financial, health, food and beauty categories. On-site parking is available for more than 800 vehicles.
Founded in 1960, Continental Realty Corporation is a vertically integrated, privately held commercial real estate investment and management company specializing in the acquisition and operation of retail and multifamily properties.
