CRC Captures 17 out of 24 Awards in MMHA-Sponsored Maintenance Mania Event

CRC captured 17 out of a possible 24 awards at the recently-held local qualifying competition for the Maintenance Mania® championship, an annual event sponsored by the Maryland Multi-Housing Association (MMHA), which is an affiliate of the National Apartment Association (NAA).  CRC team members finished in first and second place in five of the eight separate competition categories and CRC team members, Tony Infussi finished in first place overall, followed by Andrew Novak who finished second overall.

These two team members are now qualified for the National Championship to be held next year, in which, Infussi, a 2015 National Champion, Infussi finished second in spring 2017. Infussi handles maintenance for Donnybrook Apartments and Novak for Courthouse Square Apartments. CRC team members also finished in fourth, fifth and seventh place in the overall competition.

Held throughout the country in various cities, Maintenance Mania® challenges maintenance technicians in a number of skill-based games including air conditioning repair; replacing parts of a ceiling fan; swapping out a toilet fluid master and substituting a new CO detector. The events were designed to replicate common maintenance activities performed on a daily basis in apartment units. One of the categories challenges participants to build a race car out of parts commonly used in apartment maintenance.

A/C Repair: Tony Infussi, First Place and Ronald Foley, Second Place

Toilet: Tony Infussi, Second Place

Fire-CO Safety: Rodney Tyler, First Place; James McKnight, Second Place and Tony Infussi, Third Place

Icemaker: Tony Infussi, First Place; Ronald Foley, Second Place and James McKnight, Third Place

Key Control: Andrew Novak, Second Place and Tony Infussi, Third Place

Ceiling Fan: Andrew Novak, First Place and Tony Infussi, Second Place

Race Car: Andrew Novak, First Place and Tony Infussi, Second Place
