Golf Galaxy Selects Sweetgrass Corner For Fourth Store In South Carolina And First In Charleston Area

Sweetgrass Corner

BALTIMORE, MD (October 29, 2025) – Golf Galaxy has selected Sweetgrass Corner for the interactive golf store’s fourth location in South Carolina, joining existing sites in Greenville, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach, with plans to open a 20,000 square foot store next year. Golf Galaxy, which is owned and operated by DICK’S Sporting Goods, signed a lease with Continental Realty Corporation (CRC), marking another major milestone in the company’s leasing strategy at the nearly 90,000 square foot shopping center in Mount Pleasant. CRC, a Baltimore-based real estate investment and management company, acquired Sweetgrass Corner, located at 1909 N Highway 17, in 2022. CRC’s Cherene Keenan represented the landlord and The Navigator Group’s Timothy Brennan and Don Lyon of GreatStreet Realty Partners represented the tenant in this transaction.

Golf Galaxy will occupy a portion of a former anchor space that CRC successfully repositioned following its 2022 acquisition of Sweetgrass Corner. The company has since leased 14,000 square feet to Trader Joe’s, which opened last fall, and continues to attract nationally recognized tenants to the center.

Golf Galaxy offers a broad assortment of golf equipment, apparel and footwear from leading brands like Callaway, TaylorMade, Titleist, PING, Nike, Under Armour and more. The retailer’s new concept store coming to Sweetgrass Corner, called Golf Galaxy Performance Center, will feature state-of-the-art hitting bays with TrackMan™ technology, a putting green, golf services desk, club technician workshops, and game-changing instruction from PGA Professionals. The retailer also sells pre-owned golf clubs and offers golf club trade-ins.

“Golf Galaxy has redefined the golf retail experience with its innovative Performance Center concept, offering golfers access to advanced technology, expert instruction, and premium equipment all under one roof,” said Kristina O’Keefe, CRC’s Vice President, Commercial Division. “Its arrival at Sweetgrass Corner brings a valuable new resource to the Mount Pleasant community—one that supports the area’s active lifestyle and love of the game. For the center, Golf Galaxy represents an exceptional anchor that will attract consistent foot traffic, complement existing retailers, and enhance the overall shopping experience. This addition also reflects CRC’s ongoing commitment to curating dynamic, experience-driven retail environments that meet the needs of our communities. With the addition of Golf Galaxy and Trader Joe’s, Sweetgrass Corner is positioned for long-term success and continued growth as one of Mount Pleasant’s premier shopping destinations.”

Situated between N Highway 17 and Hungry Neck Boulevard at the intersection of Isle of Palms Connector, Sweetgrass Corner features 15 retailers and restaurants offering a mix of personal care services as well as sit-down and fast-casual dining options.

Nearly 45,000 vehicles pass Sweetgrass Corner on a daily basis via US Highway 17 North, and the center is located on a strategic corridor connecting Mount Pleasant to Charleston, with direct links to Interstate 526 serving the nearby towns of Daniel Island, North Charleston, and West Ashley. Nearly 60,000 consumers, with an average household income exceeding $125,000, reside within a three-mile radius of Sweetgrass Corner.

Major employment centers of Charleston and North Charleston include Joint Base Charleston (36,000 employees), Medical University of South Carolina (13,000 employees), The Boeing Company (8,200 employees), and the Berkeley County School District (approximately 7,000 employees). Nearly seven million tourists visit the area annually, injecting more than $7 billion into the local economy.
